Just Another Day and More Pictures

 

Kadee spit up all over. She got me pretty good!

She also gets the hiccups a lot! I now understand why my entire stomach would thump so hard at night. This little girl gets her whole body rocked by these mean old hiccups - at least once every day. They make us laugh though. Check it out.

 

The Second Week

Kadee has been doing amazingly well. She has her days and nights figured out now. It didn't take her long. At night, she sleeps for four hour stretches and I usually only get up with her 3 times. But last night she kind of scared me because she slept like crazy. I even got up to go check on her because she slept for 6 hours. I got up with her at 12:30 and then she didn't make a sound until 6:20! 
I think I wore her out while working at school yesterday. She did wonderfully then too. She slept quite a bit, but she let me get a lot of work done! Whenever I had to go make copies I would stick her in my Moby wrap and wear her down to the copy room. Kadee has been a trooper. 
She did much better in the car than I anticipated too. Yesterday we had to drop Spencer off at work, drive to my school, pick up Spencer from work, drive to the airport to pick up Grandma Carrie, and then drive home. I was nervous for the drives with her when I was by myself, but she never made a sound. I think she likes the moving car. Not quite so much when we're stopped. But I'm so proud of my baby! She has been so good for me!
I've been trying to catch more smiles from her too. She doesn't let me get pictures of her smiling very often. My favorite smiles though are the ones I get in the middle of the night because I know those smiles are just for Mommy.

So I spent about an hour the other evening trying to get this girl to wake up so she would sleep for me that night. These are the lovely faces I got from that.

 

 

One Week

I can't believe I have already had this beautiful baby for one whole week! The newborn stage will be over before I know it.

Already more alert and we definitely know she has the lungs of a musician! I can't believe how fast this first week has flown by. I feel like all we do is feed her and change her diaper. That's it. All day long. We are getting more smiles out of her instead of just grumpy faces. We like to see more smiles. 

Kadee gets the hiccups a lot. She did before she was born too. They shake her entire little body. I understand now why my stomach would "thump" so hard almost every night.

She has her days and nights backwards so we shall be working on that. She has been fantastic for me this morning. Last night left a little to be desired but she has been wonderful this morning.Pleasant and awake for longer than she has been all week. Plus she let me shower and do my hair.

 Cuddles with Daddy

Brynne and I needed a little project last night so we made a one week celebratory cake for us to have today. Brynne did the piping, she's good at that. I helped make the cake and buttercream. It gave us something fun to do.

 

Mom and Brynne are headed back to Utah tomorrow morning. It has been wonderful having them here. Mom cooks for us and has cleaned my apartment. Plus she makes countless trips to Wal-Mart for this and that all week. Brynne is the baker, as shown by the cake. She also made us cookies earlier this week. I took it slowly with those because I'm still watching my blood sugar, but we have loved it! Both have been willing to help me by holding Kadee for any length of time. They are great. I will miss having them here.

Story Time with Daddy

Kadee has been doing really well. She is very much adored by us.
 

But...One of the most adorable things I have ever seen...

Kadee has been exploring more today. She will just lay there and look around at the lights and movement. Spencer laid down by her for a little while and then decided he wanted to read to her. She has been very content to lay next to her Daddy and listen to him read.

She reached over and became very interested in Spencer's mouth as he was reading.
