We Can See The Grass!

Towards the end of April, North Dakota finally started to thaw out, and we started to spend as much time outside as we could.

We love going on walks all around the base. There are some great trails. I just can't get my daughter to wear a stinking jacket. She still thinks she's in Oklahoma.

Sometimes our walks are too much for Little Buddy

I think we would all agree that the tandem bike is one of the best purchases we have ever made. We love going on bike rides all together.

I made us a new flag to fly our colors though.

Sometimes our bike rides are a little much.

Easter 2020

April 12, 2020

Happy Easter!
I really enjoy the holidays with my little family. Plus it's always fun when it's someone's first Easter. I splurged and got Kadee a scooter that arrived on Saturday and then as always, the Easter Bunny leaves us books on Easter morning. It's one of my favorite traditions that we have. We didn't bother with decorating eggs this year because it's just such a mess with little littles. I think Kadee will be all ready to color eggs next year. Jackson may still have to wait a while.

On the Friday before Easter, we had tried to dress the kids up in their nice Easter clothes they got from Grandma Carrie and do some pictures with them. It didn't really work out. Maybe next year.

Look Who's Getting Teeth!

Poor Jackson Buddy started getting his teeth coming in in March. They're pretty cute.

GFAFB Library Reopening

March 4, 2020

We were so excited to get to the base and find out there is a library right here. But, we got here right in the middle of the library's renovation. So we had to wait 5 months before we could check it out, but it is super awesome. Kadee, Jackson and I attended the big reopening and story time. The base took pictures of the event and Kadee was all over in them. She was just loving the library. Jackson was just happy to be there.

Unfortunately, we have not been back to the library since shortly after it's reopening due to covid-19 shutting things down. We HAVE been emailing book requests a lot though. Our library staff is just awesome! We cannot wait to get back to the library!

Sledding at Turtle River

Feb 17, 2020

We discovered that Turtle River State Park has an awesome hill for sledding. We were the only ones there AND they have a warming house that you can hang out in when you can't feel your fingers anymore. The warming house has an electric fireplace, bathrooms, and plenty of space.
It was cold but we had lots of fun. Next time we will take a crock pot and do pulled pork sandwiches and take the instant pot for hot chocolate.

Skis for Kadee

Spencer was super excited to get this Air Force assignment to North Dakota because he loves to cross country ski. We didn't find any skis for me this year but Spencer did manage to get some for Kadee. She was super excited to learn and to go skiing with Daddy. Spencer created some ski trails for her around the open area behind our house. She needed me to walk along side her (only possible with snow shoes, of course) for a while at first. But she started to figure it out. She will really be going on them next winter! I had to put Jackson in the baby carrier on the front of me and wrap Spencer's big military coat around the both of us, but it got really hot really fast that way. Jackson stayed plenty warm!
