One Year Older & Wiser Too

Happy Birthday Spencer!!

I'm afraid we did not have a lot of time to do much celebrating for Spencer's birthday this year. It fell on a busy day. So that morning, I made sure to have a big breakfast all ready for him and he opened gifts and cards at breakfast.

Spencer's gift from his parents that they got in Hawaii.

Spencer's gift from me. He's excited to ride his bike again. (good thing the weather is super warm right now)

The rest of his birthday was postponed a bit until I could make his pie that he wanted. Spencer did not want cake for his birthday, he wanted pie. With berries. So that is what I made him.

Valentines 2014

On Monday before Valentines, we had a Family Home Evening with some couples in the ward. We watched Elder Scott's talk on Eternal Marriage and then decorated sugar cookies.

This is an anatomically correct heart, with the right side deoxygenated, and the left side oxygenated.  :-)

We also counted the Symphony last Friday as our Valentines date. Then on Valentines Spencer got me a very thoughtful and tasty gift.

My gift to Spencer was a candy bar card and then I made him cream cheese filled jalapenos wrapped in bacon. I think he really liked it :)

Happy Valentines!

Utah Symphony

We have been really lucky lately because I get tickets to the Utah Symphony at work. So we have been a couple times in the last few months. I really like to go listen to the amazing performances and Spencer likes any chance to wear one of his bow ties.

I had a bunch of friends from the School of Music performing in this one and they did a fantastic job! It was really awesome to see. (they are in the choir)

I don't know if I was really supposed to take a picture... the announcer guy just said no flash photography. But you can kind of see where people are, if you know exactly where to look.

I really like the cool glass thing. And we got there early enough to take a picture before there were too many people standing all around it.

We make weird faces...

You will also notice Spencer sporting one of his new bow ties. He is very good at tying them.

The Mozart mass was really awesome. The Kredo is my favorite :) They also performed Shostakovich Symphony #7, it was kind of really super long, and the audience was getting restless. But we really had a good time! Spencer liked the Mozart mass too, because it was not as long as the symphony. We get the best seats when we go with Huntsman tickets. They know I am a music major and the nice front-desk lady gave me first pick for tickets this time.
