Tanner's Birthday Without Tanner

Day 3

It was a little colder today. We played inside and went for a walk close to home. Kadee helped show Grandma and Grandpa all around the OU Health Science campus and showed them where Daddy goes to class. The trees were super pretty on campus and it was a nice walk. A little chilly, but very good. Kadee took turns running around and riding in the stroller.

After a chilly walk we had to warm up at home. Kadee wanted to read books all day. She also was spoiled by her Grandpa. He brought a little fish for her to play with AND a monkey that she absolutely loves! Kadee loves the monkey so much that she packed it all around the zoo with us the day before.

We went to the playground while we were waiting for Spencer to get out of class. It was still cold but I don't think Kadee cared at all. She also didn't care that the slides had water at the bottom. She crawled across them and splashed her hands around in the cold water. Her pants were pretty wet when we got home. She had fun on the swings, but I think she had more fun on the slides this time. Her Grandpa taught Kadee how the slides work and it was so fun to watch her! Grandma taught Kadee how to say "five"!

She wasn't quite as thrilled to swing with Grandpa. She preferred to run around.

Kadee was so funny on the slide. I had to catch videos of her going down a few times. Here is her progression of learning how to slide.

Tonight we tried some chicken and waffles for Grandma Carrie. We have determined that they are not all they are cracked up to be. In fact, it was pretty lame for something that is so famous. We also tried the chocolate soda and the butter flavor soda. The chocolate was gross. Like really. Everyone (besides myself) thought it smelled like NyQuil. Allen and Carrie said the butter flavor was super gross. Allen said it's like drinking popcorn butter. Spencer and I decided to pass on it.

Kadee has had so much attention. I don't know what she's going to do without having Grandma and Grandpa here to dote on her. She really has loved it. We are very lucky to get the extra time to spend with them.

***side note***
I didn't know what to title this blog post. So Spencer suggested "Tanner's Birthday Without Tanner". Ha! So of course.....
Sorry Tanner. But Happy Birthday

Zoo Day With Grandma & Grandpa

Day 2

We had so much fun at the zoo. It was the perfect day for the zoo too! Everyone was pretty worn out by the end of the day. Kadee definitely was! I think Kadee really liked having the extra attention this time. She was so happy to walk around from glass to glass with Grandma following her.

We packed a lunch. Kadee just wanted a "happle".

Everyone was so tired.

Spencer picked a Vietnamese place for dinner tonight. His bowl he ordered was so huge! The four of us would never have been able eat it all, let alone just Spencer working on it. Kadee was supposed to share my rice with me. She got a little preoccupied playing with Grandma's chop sticks. But she also was NOT into eating very much. She did not like Grandma's noodles or any veggies either. Strange for this girl, but oh well.

After Kadee went to bed we had a sampling of one of our soda's from Pops66. We tried the maple bacon first. Spencer thought it was "maple-y". Allen did too. Carrie didn't like it. She said, "that tastes terrible." I had a hard time getting past the burnt bacon smell. And I think it tasted like burnt bacon. So much burned smell. We'll try another later. Spencer added, "It's not absolutely fantastic like Pony Malta. But it's alright."

Grandma & Grandpa in Oklahoma

Day 1

Grandma Carrie and Grandpa Allen came to visit Kadee in Oklahoma. We were excited to go pick them up at the airport and Kadee had so much fun playing up and down the escalators. She loved it. She kept saying "Wow! Wow!", but in an awed, whisper voice. Ha!
She even liked just watching the escalators move.

Grandpa sat in the back with Kadee in the car and won her love with Twizzlers and a fish toy. She also drank all of his water. And when we stopped at the grocery store, he bought her a "happle". The apple kept her happy in the car on the way home.

While we were waiting for Spencer to get out of class Kadee had fun dancing and reading books with Grandma. She also got a little tired, but there was too much going on for her to really take a nap.

Wednesday night we went to Pops66 with Grandma and Grandpa. Kadee ate and ate and ate french fries. She really liked them and was even kind enough to share them with Grandma too. Then we played outside so Kadee wouldn't break any of the soda bottles. They have SO many weird and crazy flavors to choose from. We saw Honey, Maple Bacon, Chocolate, Cinnamon, Huckleberry, Ranch, Serrano Pepper, and lots more.

More sharing with Grandma

 Peak a boo!

When we got home Kadee got a bath and went straight to bed!
