Bertoch Spring Break Visit - Easter Sunday

We were so excited for the Bertoches to come visit us! Brynne would talk to us on the phone and say "20 days until we come to see you," then "10 days until we come to see you!" We had this count down going pretty much every day until they finally made it.

Every day they were here Kadee would wake up and walk around saying, "Papa!? Papa? Where are you? Cache? Brynne?! Cache? Brynne? Where's Mama?" They never got up in the morning as early as she would have liked.

Our Easter Egg theme this year was, Star Wars! Brynne tried helping Kadee. They were trying to just put stickers on the eggs. But Kadee didn't get it. She much preferred to just eat the hard boiled eggs. That little girly ate 4 hard boiled eggs that day! I couldn't believe it! But the rest of us had a lot of fun making some super cool eggs. Several of us did eggs while listening to Conference. Some did eggs between and after sessions.

Spencer did a planet Hoth egg. Yep. You guessed it. It's just a plain, white boiled egg.

Kadee ended up with way more stickers on her face than on her egg.

Picture evidence: Kadee only wanted to eat the eggs.

Brynne's eggs are easy to spot. Everyone else did Star Wars. She did not.

Chewbaca

Jar Jar

These are my eggs. They're fighting.

The Pooh Bear egg was done just for Kadee.

Then, since Brynne didn't follow the theme anyway, we played around with Mom's brush pens and markers.

Cache's eggs. I think he did Medusa... and I don't remember what else.

Kadee and "Papa" shared some Reece's Eggs. Actually, she ate her egg and then she ate the rest of Papa's egg.

Kadee was never not entertained.

And that's only the first day of pictures that I have folks... But wait.. there's more!

Kadee's Animals

During our Christmas visit, Kadee left her bear at my Mom's house. She was very very sad, but when my Mom mailed it back to her she was SOOO happy to have it again!

The sad part of this story is that after Kadee got her bear back, we lost it when we went for a walk one day. She started the walk with the bear, but when we got home, it was no where to be found. I felt very badly for her so Spencer and I took her to Build-a-Bear and he got a "Pooh Bear" (not really, just a bear with a red shirt) to call her very own. She has since acquired several more animals and packs all of them around daily. And of course we can never go to sleep without having all the animals in the crib too.

Bear, Efant, Zeeba, Noose
(We really have tried to get her to say "moose". Apparently "noose" is just easier to say..,.)

Happy Birthday Spencer

Well I like when birthdays come around because it means I can make a fun cake. Spencer's birthday cakes are always my favorite to do because he is so fun! This year's cake was a huge Snoopy head. It was actually pretty easy. And then I always try to cook something extra special for Spencer on his birthday. This year he requested stuffed peppers (which I would never make any other time because he is the only one who would eat them) and then he forgot what he had requested so it was a lovely surprise.

Kadee likes to be like her Daddy

Some of my favorite things about Spencer:
- He works really hard!
- He is such a fun daddy
- He makes sure I am taken care of
- He is funny
- He is very smart with money
- He enjoys volunteering
- He helps with the dishes and laundry
- He decided he wants to learn to cook more and he plans and prepares a meal each month
- He likes nerdy things just like I do
- He is very practical in his planning
- He enjoys spending time with us
- He is always willing to give a Priesthood blessing

PS, he's 27!

Music Lessons

Kadee helps me with piano lessons. And by "helps me", I mean she is absolutely no help at all. She enjoys playing with Ava at our Monday lessons, with the 2 little girls on Thursdays, and with the puppy on Fridays, but there isn't always someone for her to play with. Luckily, everyone we teach is super understanding and doesn't mind her being there. Which is good, because some days are better than others. She is getting better at it though, and I think she now knows where all of the toys are in each house we go to.

Ivy distracted her with the two things Kadee really loves. Puppies, and pictures of herself.
